Volunteer Events

January 10th 2026

Another wonderful volunteer work party!

The goal for this day was to clear around established plants and set up protective fencing around maturing conifers to deter browsing and rubbing from elk that roam through this area.

We took a break from work to play in the water and discuss the importance of beaver presence on wetlands and also found caddisfly larvae!

April 5th 2025

To round out the planting season we partnered with the Orca conservancy once again to head out and plant Sitka spruce and Red Alder!

November 24th 2024

November 24th a volunteering event was hosted here at CWA with our partner the Orca Conservancy. We planted 500 plants like red osier dogwood and pacific ninebark in an effort to create the necessary habitat for our native salmon species, the sole food source for our resident Orca populations.

December 21st 2024

December 21st we bundled up and headed out again! Despite to rain and cold weather we had a great group of volunteers and members to get more plants in the ground! We made festive cookies and warmed up with hot cider under our humble canopy.
